Dome lamp won't turn off

Playing around with the new wiring harness on my 71 charger and i can't get the dome light to turn off. I have the rally eye dash and it looks like the way you should turn on the dome light would be through the Headlamp switch? Would it be right that the dash light and the dome light would be tied to the same switch?

Yes. Turning the headlight switch knob/dash-dimmer rheostat all the way to the full bright stop, turns on the dome light.

Also check the door switches to see if they are adjusted properly and that you have the correct style bulb.
