power master 9523 vs robbmc?

I'm looking at clockable mini starters. The power master and the robbmc are the same price. The robbmc is smaller and I was about to buy it until I saw the warranty is only 90 days. Has anyone had any problems with either? If you picked one over the other, what was your reason? Is there other options for clockable mini starters?

I think MSD has one.

I have installed the RobbMc unit on a project and I was very impressed with the quality of the unit. If I ever needed a clockable starter that would be my first choice

I have a clockable PowerMaster on a 440/6 in my Charger, ZERO issues going on 11 years...either starter is a quality unit

I have a Powermaster 9523 that I had an issue with. The customer service was the best of any company I've ever dealt with.

I used the Power master 9523 on my engine. Member Dayclona recommended it to me. The wire studs are close on my world block but do clear. The clockable feature really did nothing for my application. One position put it into the block and another position put it into the tti headers. So I used it in the original position it came out of the box in. The starter has been great so far it spins my 528 Hemi over like nothing.

I just installed a RobbMc starter on my Barracuda 400 B engine. So far it starts fine and fits well with my 1-3/4" TTI full length headers. The only downsides are 1) the grinding of the block that is required with the new design (B/RB engines) and 2) having to install a relay for the start circuit. If you are using the OE starter, you have to install a diode- that is included with the starter. HTH, Steve

1. When using a 143 tooth ring gear, no grinding is required. When using a 130 tooth ring gear, we have found that grinding on the block is required about 50% of the time. More often on B blocks than RB blocks. It is very close and it depends on the casting shift when the block was machined.

2. The diode that comes with the starter is not required as long as the starter is wired just like stock. If a Ford style relay ("remote solenoid") has been added, the diode may be needed, but probably not.
