Headers on a 93 with EFI, Is O2 sensor needed? - 01/21/09 03:44 PM

I am going to be putting headers on my 93 Ramcharger, it has the 5.2 with EFI (not TBI).

Will I need to have the exhaust shop weld me in an O2 bung? If I do do i place it after the collector, or have it added to the header itself?

Thanks!

in the header collector is probably best, otherwise, you can buy reducers from summit with the bungs in them....

You need it. Put it in the collector.

Install the O2 after the header pipe merge. I like about 10" back if you have the room. It's okay to install the O2 after the flange too, as long as the gasket is good. Then make sure the O2 sensor is rotated as shown so that water does not condense and collect in the sensor.
