e body 4 speed shifter bezel screws - 07/02/15 03:14 AM

Can someone tell me what size phillips head screws I need for the trim bezel of the shift boot on a pistol grip? I was hoping to just hit a hardware store and pick up some stainless screws. Thanks

I used HW store SS screws on mine but it has been a while. Either #8 or #10 x 1" oval head Phillips should do it.

thanks, is it just the bezel that holds down the boot or do you screw the boot down and then the bezel? I have nothing to go off of since the car was an automatic when I got it. The shifter boot has 8 holes in it so my thinking was that maybe 4 screws go under the bezel and 4 above?

this is how my the boot/bezel is on my 70 challenger. The screw holes in the bezel don't line up with the holes in the boot, so I screwed the boot down, then the bezel. BTW, car was originally manual trans car, had factory cut shifter hole and bezel/boot screw holes.
