Pulling Intake Off 04 Dodge Durango

Pulling Intake Off 04 Dodge Durango - 06/20/15 06:37 PM

Idle was iractic and then it just started stalling lately.

Thought I'd pull the intake and put fresh gaskets in and start there.

Not too intense until I've tried to actually get it out of there after it was broke loose. Pulled alternator, better, but fuel rail looks like it needs to come off. Pulled the retaining bolts and loosened the fuel line.

Now at this point, the rail has clips to the injectors and the injectors appear to be held in by the rail and its retaining bolts.

Can I just pry the whole assembly up together or do I have to undo the clips?

I`m assuming you checked out for other possible reasons for the poor idle before popping off the intake. Clean throttle body, check IAC, plugs etc. What is it a 4.7? Any codes?

No codes. IAC was trying to keep it running but couldn't as the vacuum leak got worse.
It's a 4.7

At this point, I'm committed to getting this intake out and resealed.

OK, inj. rail clips don't snap off, they slide off, inboard towards center of motor. Will have apart now in minutes.

Good, I hope that fixes it for you.

Thanks again!

Yeah, it's all out. EZ once the clips slid off and rail removed.

The truck sat for too long in our yard. Serpentine pulley/tensioner is corroded into a set position.

I'm doing the plugs too.

Looks like 2 injectors are cracked. The body of them has split. Will replace them too.

Don't mind freshening this stuff once it's apart.

Yes, I like to go thru things when I have them apart too. Gives me peace of mind knowing everything is in good shape.
