I've taught my kids to Start the car then Belt up. It gives the car a few seconds for th eoil to circulate if nothing else. The '74 has a safety feature..the seatbelt must be latched first. I'm guessing that there are two wires on teh inner Belt that can be jumped together to bypass this??

That was a 74 year only feature.
Easiest way to bypass is just disconnect the metal switch under both seats.

I LOVE THAT FEATURE. Does call INTERLOCK... if you want to get rid off let me know and I'll take the control unit located down the dash frame... what color of box is ?

You have two main options

-Use a canadian ( orange ) box or maybe newer box ( green ) and replace the interlocked box. Those units are not "interlocked" and only works like a warning signals control central unit

like these:

OR

-Use a jumper between yellow wires at reset button, located on engine bay. That way will keep also working the seatbelt warning control ( and other warning signals like key in buzzer ) and still able to crank engine. About this mod... dunno if will get some damage on control unit in a long shot

Let me know if you are able to sell/give or will rid off of your control box if is a blue one

Then you can also:

-Unplug the seat sensors
-Unplug the main sensor plug at passenger kick panel

Those will keep the control box like never gets somebody sat and never interlocked. But you can't unplug the control box since teh starting circuit works inside. If you unplug box, starting circuit will be broken

Canadian orange box and probably the green one too, has the starting cirtcuit jumper inside the box without affect rest of circuit ( internally or externally ), and keeps working the warning signals

I'M REALLY INTERESTED ON GET A BLUE INTERLOCK BOX

I have one from a '74 Satellite Sebring if needed:

I have yet to find any non-white boxes for NachoRT...yet.

I'm giving a last chance for the blue one

BTW Tony H , if you are interested on an orange box, getitgone was offering me one. So if you are interested on replace the unit for an orange box to keep the warning signals working and stil crank the engine, contact him

OR I can buy and send to you and then you send me the blue one IF the one you have is the blue one.

I will look to disconnect the switch at the seat.
We are in the habit of belting up. It's the law in New York. This 'No-Start' feature is a pain when trouble-shooting something.
