E Body Rear Frames - Difference - AMD vrs GOODMARK - 06/05/15 05:08 AM

not sure if anyone has posted this before?

E Body rear full frames Review -
==================================

I have pictures to show the two side by side to compare
of both AMD - and Goodmark -

close up's to show the very different features.

AMD is the dusty one on the right.

goodmans gusset plate's are not square through out the whole piece - left side of both pics.

the form of amd is clean and sharp on the bottom right,
stamping is defined.

Its seems that goodman's quality produces second's of their product?

amd is stronger with the welds and the form of the end plates on the right.
goodman on the left front corner fold is way off of a 1/4" away from
the main body??? not even close for a weld... makes one think about the inspection process?

inside screw backing plates of each.

Amd on right and the bottom pic shows extra running welds on the short edges of the plate - plus its thicker for the screw threads for holding.

goodmans plate is floating - not centered with 3 small tack like welds.

With these two frames I have - it seems in comparison that
AMD - is a better product all the way around with just about every feature!

I noticed that amd the welds are deeper - larger and the placement is better.

goodman's welds look like a quick pinch weld type hit?

Amd spends more money on the weld process using more electricity on a longer cycle using more wire.

To me this means over time AMD would stand way longer as originals did.

The metal seems stronger when running self tapping screws into both of them.

The gusset - web pieces are thicker with amd.

The back screw plates are thicker and welded deeper with amd.

The main overall appearance is better - top flanges don't have ripples in the AMD.

GOODMAN -
without totally bashing Goodman - they are good for the lower budget job - and better than the old rusty pieces!

They are thick metal. For the most part, the form seems good for fitment.

The length seems the same for both.

They both weld nice when installing.
