Okay, so I'm sure some of you have seen my posts before needing help with my recent swap. I have the 273 in a 73 dart swinger. It's a bone stock 273 out of a 67 barracuda. It's backed by a 904 and 8.25, and I don't know my gears, i know they're stock. The front suspension and steering has been all redone with moog parts and i have a front sway bar. All and all the engine is and car are pretty stock.

I am 20 and go to college for physics and engineering and my family owns a tool and die shop so I am handy with motors and machining. But my budget can be a bit tight. Throw some ideas at me, what should I be looking at, and what should I stay away from. I've built a twin turbo 66 fury 318 poly and i'm now looking for a cruiser that could put me in the 12-13s and still be mild enough to take on the highway.

Are my goals reasonable, or with the 273 am I reaching too far. Let me know some options and suggestions. You all seem to know WAY more than myself.

Start with a 360 block which has the most cubes of any SB & the external dimentions are the same as your 273 ex for (1) mtr mount ear & that's easily dealt with. Stay with the 360 cubes or Mancini has 4" stroker cranks for $239 & I'm considering it just because it is so cheap.

A 360 would be nice, but what I have now is a rebuilt 273 + 904, and I just dropped it in. Whats the best you think can be done with a 273.

I have considered turboing it as I have the 318 poly.
