72 dart brake light switch question - 05/15/15 07:22 AM
Maybe it is obvious but being upside down never helps- is there an adjustment that can be done on a brake light switch on my 72 demon? I swapped to a new aftermarket MC and the pedal doesn't return quite as far. I already bent it a little I need an 1/8th" more.
What fastener should I be looking for? Is it a screw? Bolt? Machine screw? Nut&Bolt?
I don't want to hoseclamp a shim to the pedal but I will if I have to...
Thanks!

I made an L or U shaped plate that bolted on to the pedal to extend how far back it went when it was up.
I couldn't get enough adjustment on the switch to move it.
since the pedal already had holes in it, it was a simple bolt on.

What Andrew said, drill/tap/bolt something secure on there (on the pedal). Avoid bending the switch itself as it is too delicate

Thanks!
That's easy enough. Hopefully this thread can help the next fella out- my search didn't return much.

The pedals aren't original to my '72 (swapped to manual) so I don't know what a real '72 setup looks like.
But mine has a bolt (on the right hand side of the pedal/steering column bracket assembly) that when loosened allows the switch to slide back and forth for adjustment. Is yours already all the way forward?
