70 cuda top of door molding - 03/30/15 08:09 PM

When installing the molding for the top of the doors and quarter panel do I slide the plastic clips into the molding and then snap the molding into the holes in the body or do the clips install in the body first and the molding snapped down on to the clips. The molding is notched on the bottom which makes me think the clips get installed on to the molding first but as usual I could be wrong. Thanks, Charlie.

Put the mld clips on the body first. When installing the mlds be careful not to hit them too hard, they dent easily because they are aluminum.

Make sure the is no paint on the clips, they need to be bare plastic or the trim will be hard to side over the clips. Another tip is to slide the moulding on to one side of the clip and just snap the opposite side over the clip. Don't try to go over both side of the clips at one time.

Thanks for the advice, I will try the short pieces first and see how that works. Thanks again, Charlie.
