I have a 70 roadrunner that won"t crank, new starter, good battery,good relay, have power at large starter post,have power at large relay post,when key is turned relay closes and sends power to starter a loud clack is heard but starter does not turn engine. Engine is not seized. At a total loss,any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks

(1) clamp the small/large starter terminals together with a red jumper cable (be carefull of getting close to the starter case as it will vibrate when it cranks) and clamp the other black jumper cable to the nearby starter ear to ground it (2) set battery on ground by the LF tire (3) clamp the black cable end to batt neg post and red cable end to batt neg post (4) post what happens

did pull starter from car and bench tested as you said,bendix extended and starter spun.still at a loss.Thanks for the response.

Found problem, hard to believe the positive cable to starter was dropping out with load applied, brand new cable from E body restorations put old cable on cranked right over UNBELIEVABLE. thanks for all the responses
