K-member-to-frame spacers - anyone use them? - 03/03/15 04:08 PM

Good morning,

I am considering installing spacers in-between the K-member and frame of a 1967 Plymouth to gain a 1/2" of hood clearance. Has anyone tried that on a street car? Did it cause any noticeable issues with handling/steering? Who sells them?

Thanks!

I have had them on the Cuda for years now. No problems. I just welded stacks of washers together.

Just did 3/8" to pickup a little room for 500". I still need to work with deep sump oil pan with girdle when turning right and my Pro Parts headers. We shall see!!!!!!!!!!!

It makes it harder to obtain camber angle. The upper control arms tilt down pulling the top of the tire in. You may or may not have enough adjustment to bring it back. Late model spindles are .375" taller which will help.
