New Demon's same as the old Demon's? - 01/29/15 02:04 PM

Been looking at carbs lately and the Demon's look to have all the features I'm interested in at a good price but I know of the bad rep the older Demon's have. Are the new Demon carbs that are now sold by Holley still plagued by the same issues as the old one's? I'm currently considering a new speed Demon 750 for my 440.

I haven't seen any complaints of poor workmanship. The 2 complaints in the following articles are one on a larger, more radical engine. And one that was actually about a much older and different Demon.

There is a lot more on Google about these carbs.

To my way of thinking Holley bought the name, so they should be like a Holley in terms of build quality. I've run quite a few Holley carbs right out of the box. The old Barry Grant Demons had some nice features, but the build quality was reportedly awful.
I'd say the new Demons will be all right.

Yes, the newest Demon carburetor line is of a much higher quality.
Thanks to Holley!

the only demon by holley I had the hands and used came with clogged passages and all had to be disassembled and cleaned to work. It was a demon spped 650 vs.
In my opinion the holley maintained its standard on news demons, I've had to clean several holleys right out of the box.
