What P/S pump is this?

1968 Valiant 273. It should be a Federal 1.06, but this one looks very different from the service manual diagram, and any other Federal I've seen. Normally the pump comes apart from the back (inside the reservoir), but this one comes apart from the front. It was making noise and I want to rebuild it, but now I'm not sure I have the correct rebuild kit.

Any ideas?

You have a TRW pump

Looks like you're right.

What is the TRW pump off of? It should be a federal on a '68 small block from what I understand. Are the brackets the same for Federal and TRW pumps? Are there any rebuild kits available for TRW pumps?

The brackets are different. Steer & Gear in Ohio has the rebuild kit you need. In '68 I believe many cars came either with the Federal or TRW/Thompson pumps. Saginaw I believe were used more in later years.

If he is correct, a TRW PS pump is used with a cast iron water pump and brackets are not directly interchanegable between TRW and Federal. You would also have to get a different hose if going to a Federal.
