I need to know if 71-74 charger k frames are different between big block and small block cars. If so Is it just the engine mounts or what is the difference? I keep getting conflicting info and just want a better opinion!

73-4 are isolated K frames, as well as spool motor mount

so if I was wanting to install big block in a 72 with a small block k frame I would have an issue correct?

71/2 have a V8 K-frame. Same for SB and BB. 73/4 is a totally different frame than 71/2 and also has a SB and a BB frame.
So in your 72 if you want to change the 318 with a 440 your good to go. Just need some BB motor mounting brackets.
