Dana 60 Yoke ID Help - 01/09/09 01:57 AM

Trying to figure out what yoke is on my Dana 60 so I can get the driveshaft worked out. I took some measurements and it looks like the u-joint cups are 1" diameter and the yoke is 3.5" across.

Is this sufficient to ID the yoke?

Thanks in advance!

Straps or u-bolts? Factory should be straps, 2 5/8 inside and would be a 7290 series.

U-bolts so I know it's not the original. 3.5" was to the outside edges of the yoke... like a moron I didn't measure the inside edges and it is a PAIN to get to.

Sounds like a spicer 1350.

Thanks, as always, for your help. Anyone know the u-joint cap diameter for the 1350? I'll try to look it up... I was getting ready to order a 1350 yoke from Dr. Diff but don't want to jump the gun if that is what's in there.

Maybe he could identify your yoke. They did use spicer 1310, 1330, and the 1350 series. I had a chart somewhere showing the sizes.

I am thinking it must be a 7290 either aftermarket or drilled to accept u-bolts.

Never know. How are the caps locked to the shaft? Inner c-locks or ?....

It is in the bed of my truck under a 74 Charger NOS quarter panel that I just brought back from Indiana to Florida for Nacho down in Venezuela, so it is a real pain to get to the yoke. I am going away for the weekend but I hope to unpack everything next week and I can take a good look at it, I was just trying to get stuff ordered... I'm anxious to get the 3.73 Dana in place of the 3.23 8.75" that is in there now.

Just in case you ever wanted to know... a 74 Charger quarter panel will fit in the bed of an 07 Ram short bed with the tailgate up and an ARE hard cover completely closed... but if that panel was 1/4" longer I don't think it would have made it!
