timing problem in 96 5.2 - 12/30/14 01:48 PM

I had a coolent leak in timing cover and when i went to fix it I found bad timing chain... so I replace the chain set and put it back together, it started up just fine like new ran for about 10 minutes and when i gave it a little gas it just puttered out and wont start back up. cranks fine just won't start. could one of the key ways have come out or????

See if you have spark: hold the coil wire (dist end) 1/4" from ground while someone cranks it with the key. To ans your Q, you might pull the plugs & do a compression test in any hole real quick & see if you have a normal reading

if I got spark whats next?, I just put a new coil on it a couple of weeks before the leak started, and it was working fine. I only replaced it because of not running strong, but that was the timing chain that was causing that ( which is in time ).

What timing set did you use? I had a Comp Cams set that had the cam mark two teeth off, same thing happened with my Magnum engine. Need to degree that cam in.
