57 dodge school bus with this system. A woman has it & there's a brake issue. I believe she said "hydrovac". What is this system & how does it operate. There are fringe benefits at stake

I do not know if it is a diesel or not but I'm thinking not but I ain't sure. SC thank you for the (informative) link. I'll go thru/study it. EDIT Pic added

If it looks like the link provided, "Hydrovac" is indeed what it is. They are simple, really. Think of it as a power brake unit. The unit has a brake line going IN from the original master, which activates the unit in place of a push rod. The vacuum boosts it, and feeds boosted pressure out
These were used and added to many older trucks, even pickups
