Yippee ! Lucky me, time to rebuild the front suspension - 10/09/14 01:41 PM

On the 2005 Magnum

It appears that at 80,000 miles the front suspension parts are all worn out

Seems that with a problem this widespread a re-call should of been made to cure it

Any tips, suggestions I may need

Looks like parts are going to be around $500

You'll need to disconnect the spindle from the upper control arm to change the struts. Use a small tie rod end puller to break the ball joint taper instead of a pickle fork. You'll avoid tearing the boot up that way.

You'll also need to do tie rod ends, sway bar end links, sway bar bushings and tension struts. The tension struts have their own ball joint and there's really no way around using a pickle fork unless you have the clearance to give the stud and good whack from underneath. Just do your best to avoid tearing up the boot on the LCA ball joint. they're pretty close to one another.

If you're going wild and replacing control arms while you're in there, ignore everything I've said and have fun.
