Horn Pad Question

Horn Pad Question - 05/27/08 02:04 AM

I have a '69 BBody. I have a replacement steering wheel I believe out of a '70?(it has a rubber grip not bakelite or whatever it is on the original) However the horn pad and horn ring is one unit. How can I attach the pad with the steering wheel? On my current steering wheel it's two peices, the pad and the horn ring. The ring screws to the horn actuator and the pad bolts to the ring. With the replacement pad I have no way of securing the pad to the steering column?
I'd like to use the pad off the replacement steering wheel. Hope I explained it enough. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a a 68RR and wanted to use a 69RR style horn pad. I had to buy a complete 69 wheel and then take the guts and mount them to my 68 wheel. After that, the 69 pad fit right on. I'm not too sure on what a '70 model involves, as I had been under the impression that they are different altogether.
