70 440 cuts out on hard acceleration

70 440 stock electronic ignition orange box. On hard acceleration engine shuts down as if I turned the key off. If I back off its fine. New distributor. Any help appreciated

I'll ask something because it happened on my 70 440 as well.

Have you replaced the alternator recently? I swapped my stock alt to a Powermaster and on HARD acceleration I found the belt was pulling the alternator in and the post on the back was grounding on the cylinder head and shutting the car off.

did it happen with the old dist & you replaced it & no change? does it cut out immediately when you floor it? or after several seconds & is this while cruising & you nail it or is from a stoplight? what speed/RPM. always done it or recent problem. what part changes/adjustments preceded it
