1968 Road Runner Exhaust Tips....

1968 Road Runner Exhaust Tips.... - 09/19/14 04:17 AM

Recently acquired a 1968 383 Road Runner...I was wondering if it came with chrome oval exhaust tips. I have heard in 1968 Only Hemi's and 383's w/d�cor packages did.

Is this true ??

On Roadrunner, I believe only decor package cars had them. Reguardless of the engine option.
And at some point in time (not sure if it was 68) California cars could not have them, because of the noise?

I know a original owner 68 RR that is a decor group car that did not come with the tips. I don't know the build date.

Mine did not come with the tips. I'm the original owner and the car has the Decor package.
(FYI) Bought mine in late 1968.

I would agree with sthemi, but as we have seen way too many times that the rules have variations... My 68 Hemi RR has them with the decor package but pretty sure it was the hemi option that included them. The tips look nice reguardless if they are original or not - I would add them if you want since it is fairly easy to reverse later on... By the way - nice color combo esp with the blackout. Do you have the black and silver interior?

I meant to say my RR has the tips but I do not have the decor package. Anyway, I get a lot of comments on the black and silver interior as most people usually see just the solid black. Do you still have the silver headliner and back window trim? This is most commonly changed to black since Legendary does not carry the silver.
