Hey Guys, I have a 71 383 Challenger convertible. (it's a tribute r/t w/ a 440 now), however, I am curious how I can find out how many of my cars were made. I've checked on Galen Govier's site and they aren't currently accepting any tag applications due to backlog. I just want to be able to tell my friends that my car is one of XXX made (convertible big blocks) to help me feel better why I have this much money tied up in a hobby car. It'll just make me feel better if the number is low. :-)

per GG's "white book": U.S. spec. '71 Challenger convertible with 383 4bbl = 167

Don't you have to double or triple that to account for the tributes? G

Thanks for the info, fender tag attached. (that made me laugh, yeah, I guess there are countless of em' possible if they are tributes). I wouldn't advertise it as anything it's not, I added the shaker and the four speed, couldn't afford the car I wanted so I made it. but, if there were truly under only 200 big block 71' convertible challengers, that amazes me. I wonder how many are left.

Since that's NOT an authentic fender tag any other facts would have to come from another source.

I don't have '71 383 2bbl numbers, but in '70 it was almost double the 383 4bbl numbers, I'd hazard a guess around 200 additional 383 cars.
