71 plymouth b-body--early or late build? - 08/14/14 02:29 AM
Hi all, Trying to buy some window weatherstrips or "cat whiskers" for my 71 gtx..The question is do I have an early or a late build? I have no idea how to tell.. Is it on the build sheet? Fender tag? I have no door sticker here--it is at my bodyshop.. I also have no idea when the "cutoff" date was.. TIA, Kevin

If it is an early build VIN will be a low 100000 number. Also build date is on the fender tag.. Early build would be late 1970 like ~end of August, I think.

My vin ends in 173088.. I guess I am tag dumb, lol.. Where is the build date.. Dante told me to measure the boomerang "cat whisker" for the quarter window.. He said it is either 10 1/2" or 11 1/4".. Hmm, measured and the total length is 27"? Didn't realize it would be this difficult to order a set of cat whiskers, lol. Kevin

O.k. I need the outside ones. The rest of mine are decent. Need to see if I can dig up the inners.. If not I'll order the longer set and cut them if I have to use them. Kevin
