RAM clutch static pressure to go with - 08/13/14 01:22 AM

Car is a max wedge clone 505 stroker . I plan on driving to car cruises for the most part and maybe race it a little. RAM pressure plate I was looking at has 2,800lb. static pressure. Another RAM has 3,200lb. static pressure. I think the 2800 is going to be good. Will the 3200 be ok to other than a work out for my leg? Or will both be hard on the leg. Just want an opinion. Thanks

I ran a 3200 McCleod. It was one h--l of a push on the pedal. Now it runs a CenterForce dual friction.Been in for 15 years and still hooks like new. That and a light pedal.People say a diaphram wont shift at RPMs.Bull mine shifts at 7K just like it does at 3K.Rocky

Go with the 2800# unit and a dual friction disc in case it does slip you won't ruin it on it's first pass
My last clutch was a 2400# Hays Mark XII race unit and it had some slip to it but it was streetable.
