has anyone used just sealer on a bigblock water pump?not the housing to block, but the pump to housing.

I did it on a smallblock after the gasket in the kit had shrunk beyond usefulness. Parts-store red silicone RTV sealed it up just fine.

I ain't really a RTV fan (its the cats' ass to clean off) but blue (best color for coolant) Permatex RTV will work fine. As you know nice/even coat
