3 or 4 speed ? - 07/25/14 11:55 PM

I got a manual trans. given to me. I know it's a chrysler by the speedo cable hook up. It has a small block al. bell hsg. but no shifter how can I tell externally if it's a 3 or 4 speed??

A three speed will have 2 studs for shift rods to mount to and a four speed will have 3 studs..

Simple enough, thanks. I was considering scraping it but I think I'll hang on to it now.

Thanks again for all the info. Looks like its a 4 spd. from a B body. I have no history on it & both shafts are rusty, maybe some parts salvageable?

Check with Passon Performance, Jamie is a great resource for rebuilding these . . .

Cheers

Should have value as a core, at the very least.
