I put a Tuff Stuff OEM replacement 100 amp alternator on my street and strip Duster due to the current draw of the race fuel pump and MSD 7 sereis ignition and so on. I figure it is way better to have alternator that will have room for future growth if I decided to add other electric parts onto the system later. I bought a 100 amp Powermaster single wire GM type for my race car, I ran a #8 wire form the alternator directly back to the + side of the battery and added a analog Volt meter inside to make sure it was charging while running
The race car has a electric water pump, electric fan, electric fuel pump, race ignition, electric delay box, two big batterys and so on
The race car has none of the original wiring so it was simple to add that #8 wire to the battery
