HELP s.o.s rear spring-shackle mounts Dr. DIFF?????? - 01/01/09 08:48 PM

O.K here is car-1970 340 duster with a 67 b-body 83/4 rear-end here is the problem!!!! the mount shakles that came with the car had the hard plastic bushings so i ordered new shackles with the rubber bushings,the first set the bushings fit the spring eyes but not in the upper spring mounts???? so i ordered new offset shakles because of the 67 rear end went to put them in today SAME PROBLEM the bushings do not fit the upper rear spring mounts-This is giving me grey hair and i,m beside myself it seems this should be so easy how many differant spring mounts are there for a 70 a-body also i now noticed that on the driver side i have a spring with 4 leafs and on the pass side i have 5 leafs i was told that hese were new super stock springs is or are these correct HELP--Swifter This is my first mopar project and am ready to be DONE!!!

If Your writing about the REAR rubber bushings for your leaf springs, then the ss springs have the larger hole.
The stock a body hole is smaller.
for the stock leaf springs.
You said You had super stock springs so then the rubber e or b body bushings will work. for the springs... and the stock a body bushings should work for the upper bushings.

What do your shackle bushings measure? A-bodies used 7/8" OD pieces.
