Help.. '02 RamVan no spark.

My little brothers 02 ram van stopped running on the way up to NH. He has it towed off to a park-n-ride. He says there is no spark from the coil.

Does the Crankshaft position sensor control that or just the pickup in the dist?
Any common parts that fail on these newer magnum 318's?

Might be the position sensor??? My dad used to own a 91 Jeep Cherokee and had the same no spark issue and it turned out to be the sensor.

i went thru this for two weeks with my 02 van. changing parts checking connections. it was the computer! so keep that in mind.

Turned out to be the coil.

Its guts are all exposed. It looks like the metal core got water in the laments and rusted. Split and busted the plastic. Great design..

Planned obsolescence. In the near future you won,t be able to open a hood.
