77 Cordoba Rear End

77 Cordoba Rear End - 06/22/14 09:54 PM

Will a 77 Cordoba rear end fit 68-70 B Body? I only need to use it for rolling porposes, 70 Charger has the springs in place but no rear end. Need to transport the Charger and need to find a rear end locally and inexpensive.

Thanks in advance.

For what you're doing, sure. My one Magnum has an earlier 8 1/4 under it.

The spring perches are about 1.5" further apart on each side. So they probably won't touch the springs, but I've used some chain to attach an axle to move a car before where the axle was too wide.

Another option is a F/M/J axle (Aspen, Diplomat, 5th Ave etc.) The spring pads will be in the right spot for a B body, just that the center pin holes are much larger.

Up to what years say for 5th Ave. or Diplomat?
Probably going to get this at a bone yard where the Cordoba sits. But if I can get one of those cheaper Mopars the price will be lower.

Thanks again

While you're getting stuff from that '86 - '89 Fifth, score the engine too. It'll have a roller cam 318 with the 302 heads. Most look very very good after 100K miles.
Transmissions are the A998 with low First gear.
