70 Dodge Power Wagon won't Start

This truck has been sitting for about 1 1/2 years and it always started right up as I only started it once every year. It has a 318 automatic. It did not have spark at the spark plugs at first but then I switched out to a different coil and still did not have spark. Then I jiggled and reconnected the bulkhead connector at the firewall and it then has spark at the spark plugs. I have been pouring gas down the carb and cranking it over but it will not even catch or fire once. Did this for about an hour or so. I never pulled the distributor cap off or did anything else as this truck always fired right up after sitting for a complete year every year. What would be causing this? Snapped cam from the extreme cold winter this year? Timing somehow off? Like I say I just fire it up once every year drive it around on property little bit then park it.

You probably have the engine washed down with all that gas . Maybe now the plugs are wet. I'd pull the plugs , dry them, if your sure your get spark , mix up some motor oil with some gas 70%gas, 30% oil and dump some in the carb . spin it over with the plugs out . Install the plugs and see if it will start. I wouldn't mess with anything else yet. Just confirm that you have spark while it is cranking .

Yes, that's one other theory I was thinking of that it was washed down with gas but I don't know. Why would it not even kick over once? I will let it sit for over a week now and retry again.

As said pull the plugs & clean if needed. If you think the quantity of gas you pumped in there via the carb washed things down then squirt some oil into the cyls. hold the large coil wire (dist end) 1/4" from the intake metal surface as a helper turns the key to start. See if you have sparks. Holler back when you can

When I gave up yesterday it did still have spark at the spark plug. Would I still need to put some oil in the cylinder? I take it oil in cylinders would restore the compression from possible wash down of cylinders from the gas I was pouring in it?

It just sounded like you dumped quite a bit in there. Since the plugs are out it wouldn't hurt to squirt several squirts in each cyl plus it has been sitting awhile but you're likely OK & I wouldn't sweat it. Alright after you wiggled the bulkhead it now has spark & I'd possibly get some fresh gas in the carb bowl & maybe plumb a can of fresh gas to the pump inlet till we get this thing going

Got the truck running. I put some oil in each cylinder hole and it fired right up. Cylinders were washed down.
