Body color. There were some models that got black ones (A-bodies and some Spring Specials IIRC) but I believe the vast majority of black ones you see around have had the scoops swapped on or were painted incorrectly.

AFAIK, in '69, they were body color, except for the 'Spring Special' which were black. I think the black scoops show as V21 on the tag like the '69 RR hood stripes. In '70, I've only seen body color.

I've never seen a spring special option on an R/T, but that doesn't mean they do not exist. The scoops would in fact be body color without the spring special option (A39 without vinyl top A40 with top). If this was on your car it should be on the fendertag.

I've only looked at one A40 SB, it had black scoops, no stripes. This was around 1990. IIRC, the tag had both A40 (vinyl top SS) and V21 (black scoops). I always though V21 was for a hood stripe, this car had none.

I really like that car, but I don't get the big play on the NICKEY thing? I think it's the 4th time it's been listed? Car appears to be straight and some really cool options. I'm just not sure there are any 35K buyers out there right now?

I like it a lot, too. But there are many details wrong as well as it isn't matching (wouldn't disturb me but hurts the value). He will have a hardtime selling it now.
