Can the struts be removed as a complete assembly w/o compressing the springs? We are going to make new top mounts and tube a-arms. (Drag car)

Yes..Don't touch the big nut at the top, instead take the three small nuts off...at the bottom the two large bolts throught the spindle & any small stuff that may be attached...IE brake line, speed sensor wires...
