dont worry about detonation its got 170 cc head, put it @ 36 degrees total @ 2500 rpm, your giving up power with low timing, sometimes 38-40 works but eats way more feul

i am having a rough time starting with 36 total timing.
darn red top batteries stink and wont crank it over at 36 degrees.
looks like im around 30-32 degrees at 2000 rpm.

you need to recurve the dist if its backing up on you due to overadvanced initial to get the 35 total my 66 hemi car totally stock liked 34-37 depending on how hot it was outside! IIRC i had 12 initial plugged vac advance good luck dan

i just think a HEMI should run like its supposed to show poodle or not... my original cam/compression std bore 19k mile 66 hemi 4 speed car ran low 14,s when i first got it running took a year to dial it in to 13:30,s 105mph ... mine was the fastest real stock hemi car in the area as most couldnt get in the 15,s even! good luck make it run! dan
