Will P235/60R15 MT street radial drag tire fit a standard '69 dart wheel well w S/S springs?

Thanks Shorty,
I have a set of cop wheels to mount the tires on. 7x15
I think they have 4.5 backspacing.

No actual experience but what I would do is measure what you have in there right now. Sidewall bulge to springs. rim edge to springs. On the outside; rim to outer fender sheet metal and sidewall bulge to outer fender sheet metal. it's more difficult on the outside as it ain't plumb vertical like the face of a building would be but is curved. Do some easy math to compare backspace/offset/sidewall bulge side to side I forget what they call that to the tires/rims you have in mind. Find out how much sidewall clearance to springs and how much sidewall clearance to the sheetmetal & same with rim distances(s) is recommended for them & I'm assuming your new rim width is in the recommended range for the tires you have in mind. EDIT sidewall to sidewall bulge is "section width" & is 235 millimeters on your new tires & 25.4 MM is 1 inch. A different rim width would change the tire section width slightly I would think

235/60's on a 7" wheel would probably fit. The 7" wheel would probably be as narrow as you would want to go with 235/60's. Backspacing should be crucial but with 4 1/2" it should be right. Do you have BBP axles installed to run the cop car rims? It its a B Body rear under an A body the backspace isn't enough on any steel wheel to get it to fit right. I tried to put a 65 B Body (narrowest one)under my 69 dart. No steel wheels I could ever find had enough backspace to use without making custom backspaced ones.

These are 14" M&H Racemasters that are 28" tall and 9 1/2" of section width under the car now. You can see in the above photo the tires are too far out. The rear in there now is 3/4" shorter on each side than a factory A Body 8 3/4. The wheels are factory 14" wheels. backspace is 4 1/2" and they are closer to the spring than they are the body, maybe 1/2".

I've got 225/60/15's on 15x7" cop wheels as well .. but I also have Yukon LBP axles, which apparently move the wheel out by 1/4" too.. I had to do some trimming on my rear wheelwell opening trim to prevent rubbing.. but if you have stock axles, you have 1/4" more room than me.. so you'd probably be able to fit those tires.

I ran 245/60/15 on weld 7" rim with 4.5 backspace... I also ran the 245/60/15 on a 7" wide 4.25 backspace cop rim off a mid 80s dippy on the rear of my 68 Dart.

I had a-body 8 3/4 housing with large brake offset axles. this makes the stock a-body small brake offset axle 8 3/4 a 1/2" wider (1/4" each side)

the 4.5 offset on the 7" wide rim with 245/60/15 tire put it in the center of the stock 68 wheel well tub.
