Windshield Wiper Pivot Bushings

Windshield Wiper Pivot Bushings - 03/03/14 12:00 AM

Guys, please explain the windshield wiper pivot bushings. My 70 Coronet has these little plastic plates with bushings that are split on top and no cap. All I can find to replace them is this.

I don't see how it works, especially with the little tab on it. They seem too small for the shaft. What's the deal?

Is there a difference in the bushings used between the 2 and 3 speed systems?

My 68 Barracuda has 3 speed wipers and uses the black square based bushing pictured above.

That's the beast. Mine is a three speed. Why the heck doesn't anyone sell them? all the ads and information say that it's for all 1966-1976 a/b/c body and 70-74 E body. That's lame...
