Tire Size for 1970 Roadrunner - 12/17/13 09:38 PM

I am planning buying new tire for my Christmas, I got rim 15x7 (front) and 15x10 (rear) for 1970 Roadrunner. So I need to know what size of tire that will fit and without rubbing the edge. I use 8 3/4 rear 3rd member and no cut.

I can't swear to you exactly what will fit using a 15 x 10. I used a 17 x 9.5 on the rear of mine with a 275-60-17 tire. Backspacing is crucial to making it fit. I have a 68 Charger 8 3/4 rear in mine (typical 68-70 B body)with 5 1/2" backspacing. I ended up using a set of 1/4" wheel spacers to move the tire away from the spring a little. Depending on how wide of a tire you want to get 5" backspace should work. The section width on mine is about 11 1/2" and I do have a little (very little) more room to the outside. I would guess a 275-60-15 should fit fine. Mine are 30" tall so I also had to move the entire rear back 3/4" to keep from rubbing the 1/4 panel at the front.
