Front Drum Brakes E Bodies - 12/20/08 08:16 PM

Did the front drums on the Cudas/Challengers have the hub built into the drum or was there a separate hub on the knuckle? I was helping my friend do the brakes on his 68 Camaro and the front drums slide on and off a hub. Thought that was a little ahead of theirs times.

Most front drums have the lug studs swaged which holds the drum to the hub. I think GM did this too but many times the drums are replaced and the studs aren't swaged because it requires special tooling.

The pic below shows the stud before and after swaging.

I guess what I'm asking is does the drum mount to a spindle with bearings or slide onto a lugged hub?
