E-Body rear shocks - 11/17/13 05:57 PM

I went to install rear shocks on my 73 challenger, and found some weird backets on the bottom of the shocks. The shocks that were on there were coilovers and i think those brackets might have been aftermarket.

Do the stock e-body shocks just mount to the post on the bottom, or do they bolt to a bracket that then mounts onto that shaft?

Or anyone have a picture of a stock rear end on an ebody so i can decipher for me self?

The lower shock stud is located on the baseplate. Shock attaches direct to that. What you are describing is aftermarket.

Greg, good morning!
To the poster:
I am guessing you have a set of the rare and elusive SHOCK EXTENSIONS!!!!
Sold to only the most discerning and cultivated modifiers in the country when they have a need for 'just a little more'lift from those coil overs.
Someday GG will list P/Ns for those as a 'day 2'retoration part, unless I miss my guess...
