Pass side view mirror, glass is loose.72B body

As the title states,
Its driving me nuts. Adjust the mirror in the right position drive about a mile and its facing the ground.
Its a manual chrome mirror, is there any way to tighten up the adjustment on the glass?

I had the same issue with the manual mirror on my 68 RR. Remove the mirror from the car. Find a glass bowl/coffee can/whatever fits and fill with enough lacquer thinner to cover the glass part - good thing your mirror is chrome so it will not hurt it. The glass is held in place with a few dabs of something that looks like silicone. My mirror took a little more than 24 hours before the glass just fell away. Once the glass is gone you will see how to tighten up on the ball/socket joint. Some have screws and others have studs peened over to secure the plate. I took a dremmel tool and ground off the peened over head then drill and tapped it for a #6 screw. Once the housing is tight again, I mixed a little epoxy and glued the glass back on afterwards and the mirror is rock solid - good for another 40 years... The thinner will not hurt the mirror coating on the inside of the glass but just be careful not to scratch it.

If I recall, I "borrowed" one of the wife's pyrex glass square trays - something like 8" x 8"ish and put some tin foil over the top of the mirror to keep the evaporation down. I kept playing with it every few hours thinking it would not take that long. Finally got tired of waiting and let it set overnight and checked again after work the next day. I picked up the mirror and the glass was in the bottom of the tray... This obviously works very well for chrome mirrors, if you have a painted one then time for the hammer...
