64 Barracuda exhaust manifolds - 10/13/13 03:03 AM
My son bought a 64 Barracuda , 273 ,automatic. Mostly dis-assembled and we dropped in a 318.
Trouble is we can't seem to get any exhaust manifolds to fit in there.
Hopefully we can find the 273 manifolds.....any ideas?

The usual places. Ebay, craigslist and post a parts wanted ad in the moparts engine section.

340 manifolds fit fine, look for those.

Are you sure? The 340 manifolds sure stand off the engine more. NOT a lot of room in those cars.
The best bet really is an original set of the 2273 manifolds from a 64-66 A body. I know a guy with a set.......

I'm sure, pulled a 340 with manifolds out of my 65 BCuda, everything fit with no knocks near as I could tell. Granted it was 35 years ago. I've heard others on the BOG doing the same thing since headers are such a PITA on them.

BOG, barracuda owners group on yahoo, been there for years, lots of great folks there. ANYTHING pre 70, that's the place to go, esp. 67-9.

I wanted to update this. My son found the exhaust manifolds, Man! those are some wierd looking manifolds. No wonder that is all that will fit.
Once he does his resto ,he plans on fender well headers.

the original ones with the goofy bend fit best, so if you have those and its a mild motor you will be fine.
i have fitted the HP manifolds in my 66 dart, but they will only work with manual steering.
so if you want power steering, stick with what you have...o and they are a real [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] to get on and off, youll have to remove the column and jack up the motor to get to the bolts on the drivers side.
