Piston to deck height...how far down @ tdc? - 10/12/13 08:44 PM

I am working on a stock 76 400 motor and was wondering how far down the pistons are typically down in the cylinder at tdc from the factory? Thanks!

Yes a 400 begs for a 470 cube conversion. offset ground 440 crank & the only hard part is the expense of the stroker pistons. 470 is alot of cubes & it is in a compact package (smaller B as opposed to RB block exterior dimentions) & should weigh less. You can get quench & the right SCR. Heads would have to be a consideration & good ones would be the next step up
