Exhaust for A Body - 12/17/08 02:00 PM

Jegs or summit kit and have a local shop hook it up to your manifolds

I went to Midas and had them install a 2 1/4" system with FlowMaster 40s on my stock '71 Dart GT with a 318.
Sounds great, without the $$$ and hassle of headers.

I actually bought the summit kit for under 200 and
even added the H pipe kit for like 25 more. Sounds
really good. Dont know how long it will last but it
is awesome for now and the price was great.

I bought the 2 1/2" summit kit for my brother's 72 demon. It fits great, went on easy. I can't wait to start the car and see how it sounds.

The TTI exhaust system Is very nice. I have the 2 1/2 version and am very happy with it. Much better than anything you'll get made at your local shop and it's a bolt on installtion with heavy duty hangers. When you go to a bigger engine you'll already have a system that will handle it.

You will have to give them the part number of your manifolds if you go with a complete exhaust

I will have a video up soon of my new 3" TTI exhaust on my 69 Cuda with Ultraflo mufflers. I had never really heard ultraflos, and was a bit skeptical about a straight thru vs a turbo. I can honestly tell you that in my opinion (and all of ny friends that have listened to it) it is the best sounding street car I have ever heard in my life. At idle and normal driving, it sounds good, but not loud...about like dynomax super turbos...but once you get on it, it sounds like a monster. Not glasspack cracking or the hollow tinny flowmaster sound...just incredible...and it never fails to put a smile on my face every time I start it. I am not wealthy, and TTI was $$$, but it was worth every penny.

P.S. link in signature is from factory exhaust

Got my headers from John Cambridge a few years ago. He is(was) the parts mgr. for Baxter Dodge. A good guy to deal with. Again, that was a few years ago so I don't know if its still accurate. Last info I have:

parts@performanceauto.com or 800-397-8401 or the link for TTI distributors which includes Baxter Dodge.
