70's factory Mopar power locks....how did they work? - 10/11/13 01:50 AM

A derby guy I know just got in a 1976 Cordoba with power locks (push on knob both/doors lock or unlock). I want to incorporate this into my 1971 Superbee so what do I need to grab from the Cordoba to make sure I get everything? How does the mechanisms tell each other what to do?

Any help is appreciated

The door lock buttons operate switches in the doors that operate solenoids connected to the door latches. There is relay inside the passenger kick panel as well.

You'd want the lock rods and clips, solenoids, switches and wiring (or at least the connectors) and the relay.

I don't know if it will all bolt in a '71, but since they're both B bodies it just might.

as said- get everything- the door wiring from the 76 may have other wiring- use or cut it out.
