A-618 transmission ID help needed - 10/02/13 08:48 PM
I recently purchased an A618 overdrive trans and there are no 46RH/47RH markings at all to be found? this is a 3 pin plugin so it is a L/U converter. 1993 is cast in on the tailshaft so I assume that is the year.? here is what is stamped on the drivers side pad just above the pan:
PK52118307 1732 2722
supposedly this was rebuilt but I want to know what I have as I may want to make some upgrades as this will be going behind Hemi if JW ever makes there ultrabells again! TIA TBF

Also, how do you tell if it is a diesel bellhousing or gas? this one has a cutout about 1" wide and 1" deep at the 11 oclock position if looking at the front pump.....

618 is diesel V10 only , they use the same bellhousing , the diesel has a adapter to fit the V10 pattern.

The cutout on the bell is for the crank position sensor.

PK52118307 is a 46RH from behind a '92-'95 318 2WD.

That's easy... It's basically a 727 with overdrive.... as is the 618 tranny.
