getting asked if for press in or screw in ball joints,
why would they come both ways for same year/model?

most likely press in for 74. take a look at your old ones and see if the ball joint end is round or has a nut like end for removal. if i remember correctly 73 was the year they switched from screw in to press in.

I believe the 74's have press-in lower BJ's and screw in upper BJ's. Mine is a Dec build and it that's the way it is. 73 may be the changeover year with the lowers being either screw-in or pressed... The 73 and 74 upper ball joints are screw-in.

Yep, I was assuming he was talking about the lowers since I had ran into the same problem a few years ago. I should been more clear.
