Replacement calipers for Chally

All my cars seem to have brake issues...

I have been going crazy trying to figure out my soft pedal problem with my Challenger forever. Put in some reman calipers to no avail. Maybe slightly better. Bench bled the master and second master on the bench, in the car, etc. Bled the brakes at least 5 different times.

I'm wondering if the calipers are just bad. Any recommendations on a reman or new caliper?

Are you sure the rear brakes are good and the pads and shoes aren't heat glazed?

I'm not sure. But the fronts won't even lock up.

Do you have power brakes? If so , the problem is the booster.

I'll stick my neck out here and suggest that the pads/rotors have NOT seated or run in. That will cause a poor pedal and almost non-functional front brakes. Pad quality and rotor surface are key here. Cheap stuff.....poor brakes. Not saying you got cheap parts, but it could factor into the problem. Just like turning the rotors and still using the same pads....NO BRAKES!!!

I had power brakes. Changed to manual just to see if that might be the problem. Same thing. I just have to push the pedal harder to get the same lack of braking. The pedal is still soft. I don't think it's bad rotors/pads. I hate this stupid thing already. I think it has to be hydraulics. That's why I want to change the calipers again and lines/ MC.

What brand is a decent reman? Or are there new calipers I can find?

For reman, I've had good luck with Cardone reman brake stuff. Since you have already changed the calipers suggest you hold off on changing again. A weak master can cause the problem you are having. Also hoses. I'd do the master and hoses next. Also make sure the rears are adjusted. I like to adjust until they drag then back off a click or two.

I agree with swapping all the Rubber parts. I would have done ALL the rubber hoses when I did the calipers. Can't trust 30-40+ year old rubber. And this may be silly but- check to make sure your bleeder valves on the calipers are pointing UP when the caliper is installed. If they are pointing down you will be bleeding them until the end of time and never get all the air out of the system.
It is possible to swap left-to-right and end up with them pointing down. Got this from the gurus of the brake swap..thanks E-boog!

Other than that- I'd replace the master cylinder, and check the proportioning valve. If it is corroded and leaking you will never get all the air out either....

I can't remember if I changed the hoses or not. I'll get under there and look (I put this aside for half a year now). I have changed the MC. I'll do what you guys suggested. My caliper are pointing up -I knew that

I did wonder about the proportioning valve. I don't think it was leaking, but I will check again. There must be a leak somewhere. But I haven't seen any obvious leak.
