Zinc interliner ?

I was reading through my service manual for my 1st gen. Charger and it refers to a zinc interliner on the leaf springs , what is this ? and do I really need this part , are they repoped , and where do i get them ? 1966 383 4bl 4-speed Charger Thanks for the info.

I used a roll of the roofing stuff that prevents moss on the roof of your house. I believe its about 99% zinc..

It's to keep the individual leaves from sticking together. When you hit a bump the leaf spring flattens out and the leaves slide against each other as they get longer and then again as they get shorter on the rebound. The rear suspension gets sticky and the ride and handling suffers without them.

Yes you need zinc or there are plastic ones. You can leave them out and lube them by hand, but that gets old fast.

The replacements are not hard to find. Google "leaf spring liner"
