want to build a trans for my drag car and want to find one to start with the best parts and go from there..any idea's?

How big an engine and how heavy is your car ? 4 pinion planets may not be necessary. .

675 hp small block @ 2830 lbs..got a 1972 small block case to start with.

It should be noted that, after 40+ years, you never know what you'll find inside a 727...parts get swapped. Also worth noting is that 4-pinion planetaries aren't really any stronger than their 3-pinion cousins, the weak point is the splines in the aluminum front planet carrier. If you want reliability go with a steel front planetary.
